Skin Care Tips for Men

Hey guys! What is it that women notices about you first? Is it your eyes? Your smile? Your hair? It’s probably your skin, actually.

People instinctively look for signs of ill health or aging when they meet others. They look at the circles around your eyes, your skin tone, tell-tell wrinkles, and more.

Having a good-looking face with great skin is not hard. It doesn’t take a lot of work and doesn’t require that you buy a lot of girlie shower tools either. All you need is a little thought and the right information.

Clean It Up

Clean your face well and regularly. Men have oilier skin and usually have larger pores than women do. Men are more prone to acne, blackheads, and so forth. To battle this, all you need to do is a good deep cleaning daily. Use a good, quality cleanser and avoid detergent-laden soaps on your face. Sorry, guys, shampooing your face doesn’t cut it. Doing a good deep cleanse before a shave will usually make your shave go smoother as well.

Use Moisturizer

I know, I know, it’s a girl thing. Right? Not really. A simple, aloe-based moisturizer after a good face scrub and especially after shaving can greatly enhance your skin’s look of health. Use an unscented one if you prefer or look for the many moisturizers for men sold as after shave gels.

Concentrate your moisturizer use under your eyes and lay off the steak and potatoes for some good green vegetables once in a while to bolster your Vitamin E intake. Both of these will help keeping the “eye sag” or bags from appearing and keep you looking younger and healthier.

Protect Your Skin

There are a lot of things that can damage your skin in everyday life. Over-exposure to the sun, to chemicals, and more. Sun damage is the most common, but over-use of after-shaves and shaving creams that use alcohol is also hard on your skin.

Of course, your overall health is also important to your skin’s look and feel as well as your overall appearance. Stay healthy, eat well, and practice good healthy habits to keep yourself looking great. Your skin reflects your body’s health, which is why we instinctively look at skin to determine someone’s beauty.
